Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a disease that causes your immune system to overreact and form lumps or nodules called granulomas. Depending on their location and size, granulomas can cause mild to severe symptoms or no symptoms at all. In some cases, fibrosis can occur, causing permanent lung scarring. Granulomas can be found almost anywhere in the body, but most commonly in the lungs or lymph nodes. You may also have visible symptoms of granulomas in the skin, eyes, or muscles.
